About Kelly

Kelly Ellis MFT,LMFT

Hello, I’m Kelly Ellis, a National Board-Certified and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Texas. I’m glad you’re here! I offer a warm, safe, non-judgmental space where you can be your authentic self and feel truly heard. Therapy is about creating an environment of trust and openness, where we work together to help you navigate life’s challenges and find a better path forward.  I earned my Bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of Michigan in 1994.  I continued my education at MCP Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, where I received a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy and a post -graduate in Marriage and Family Therapy.  In conjunction with graduate school I completed a four year internship at Albert Einstein Medical Center in North Philadelphia. There, I worked with diverse individuals and families, gaining experience with trauma, crisis, substance abuse, and life transitions.  After spending time teaching psychology courses in California, I moved to Austin, Texas, where I now own Plan Purpose Counseling, Inc. I see individuals, couples, and family’s in my practice, specializing in working with high achievers.  I also partner with the Flatwater Foundation to provide mental health support to cancer patients and their families.

My approach is collaborative and culturally sensitive, using models like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Family Systems, and Solution-Focused Therapy. I have a passion for helping people, particularly those navigating transitions like entering adulthood, and supporting families through chronic illness and multicultural issues.

If you’re ready to explore your path forward, I’d love to help. Contact me for a free 15-minute consultation. I look forward to meeting you!

Opening a private practice is a life dream. I believe that counseling services are truly meant for everyone. My goal is to provide the best quality care for the clients I see. We all go through tough times in life, therapy offers a private, confidential space to unload feelings, emotions, and concerns. Just like caring for your physical health, your mental health is equally as important. The physical part of you is connected to the emotional part of what makes you who you are; uniquely beautiful!

I would love to get to know more about your personal journey and help give you the support and guidance, as we work as a team, to build the life that brings you to a place of joy. I welcome teens through adulthood in my practice. I specialize in working with teens, college students, and young adults who are going through life transitions. Life can be tough when you are adjusting to the big world of adulthood and all that is required to succeed and be well. I hope to provide unique counseling services that focus on helping this population in navigating life and fulfilling their dreams.
